Hosting Requirements & Benefits

How to Host a UH Course

Register 10 Full Tuition Participants & the $1000 course is FREE!!

Your Course is initiated by emailing the completed Hosting Information Worksheet to training@unitedhorsemanship.org


Step One - Confirm Facility and Participants

Ensure that the hosting facility meets the facility requirements (below) and is available.

Confirm registration for 4-6 Full Tuition Participants to ensure that your Course is a successful one.

Step Three - Schedule Course ...

Submit you personal tuition deposit of $500.00 (50%) payable by check or money order to initiate your Course. It will be listed on the Calendar as "tentative" until the requirements for 6 Full Tuition Participants has been received. This deposit is refunded for Hosting 10 Full Tuition Participants. Your refund is sent 30 days after the course's successful completion and after we receive all post-course paperwork.

UH will allow hosts to reschedule courses one time if UH is notified a month prior to the scheduled date.


Step Four - Course Promotion

UH will fax or email promotional materials to local horse publications and reimburse you for approved advertising costs.

United Horsemanship provides a selection of Groom Course Promotional Flyers online in HTML or MS Word format. These generic flyers are suitable for posting at feed and tack stores, barns and events as well as for mailing to interested individuals.


Step Five - Register 6 Participants & Confirm Date

UH requires the Deposits for 6 Full Tuition Participants to confirm the Hosts Course dates.

Courses will be scheduled as "Tentative " until this minimum is reached. United Horsemanship will attempt to avoid date conflicts, however Martha's travel dates are restricted, so Multiple "Tentative" Courses may be listed for the same dates! The first Host to submit the 6 Tuition Deposits is given the Course dates.

UH will allow hosts to reschedule Confirmed courses one time if notified at least a month prior to the scheduled date.

Course Cancellation - United Horsemanship reserves the right to cancel a Course prior to the start of the course. All deposits and costs are refundable should this occur.


Hosting Facility Requirements

Lecture / Lab Area - The areas used for Lectures, Dissection and Cadaver Trim Labs must be either enclosed or covered areas that accommodate 15 participants, their chairs & trimming tools plus several tables. Participants need access to a bathroom or porta potty and an area for washing hands.

This area must have adequate lighting and electrical outlets for power tools. It also must provide protection from direct sun and extreme weather. We ask hosts to provide air circulation in hot weather and a heat source or warming room in cold weather. Please contact us with questions or concerns!

Horse Facility - This should be a covered horse-safe area that can accommodate 3 or more horses simultaneously is necessary for live trim labs.

Parking The facility needs to accommodate the parking of participants cars and trailers.


Note Our Strict Minimum Participant Requirement!!!

United Horsemanship requires that 6 Full Tuition Participants be Pre-registered & Paid in Full at least 2 weeks BEFORE the start date, or the course will be canceled or postponed.

This course is designed to accommodate a minimum of 6 and maximum of 10 Participants.

United Horsemanship reserves the right to cancel or postpone a course that fails to meet this minimum requirement. All Host discounts and benefits are dependent on meeting these minimums! UH will allow hosts to reschedule courses one time if notified at least a month prior to the scheduled date.

Reduced Tuition Participants - This list includes Hosts, certified Hoof Grooms and professional hoof care providers whose practice is exclusively barefoot. These individuals may attend the Hoof Groom Certification Courses for 1/2 the normal tuition, or $500.

Discounts don't apply to the "Introduction To Hoof Mapping & The Whole Horse Trim" Presentation. It is free to preregistered Hoof Groom Certification Course participants, and $100 for everyone else.


Other Hosting Requirements

Live Trim Candidates - Hosts arrange & schedule the horses, a minimum of 3 horses per day on Live Trim days. Horse owners must sign waivers prior to bringing horses to the facility.

Cadaver Feet - Hosts arrange & schedule the horses, a minimum of 3 horses per day on Live Trim days. Horse owners must sign waivers prior to bringing horses to the facility.
