IMPORTANT DETAILS LOCATION
- The
clinic will be held at a private
barn 20 miles north of Reno. FACILITY - Six-stall barn with room to work inside. Participants can bring a horse; contact clinic host in advance to reserve accommodations. There is a bathroom available for use. Health
certificates or Coggins are not
required by Barn but may be required
to cross the state line. All attendees
with horses should ensure they
carry a bill of sale, registration
and brand registration as Nevada
state brand inspectors *may* pull
over a horse trailer to ensure
no stolen horses are being transported.
Please coordinate with the clinic
host. PARTICIPANT CHECK LIST - Participants will need to bring a chair or trimming stool to sit on and paper & pen for taking notes. Sunday attendees should also bring trimming equipment: hoof knife, rasp, protective gloves (see TOOLS below) and several old terry cloth hand towel that may get permanently stained REGISTRATION - United Horsemanship must receive your completed registration form and deposit (or full payment) within 2 weeks from the actual clinic date. Please understand that if you register within the last 2 weeks from the clinic date, you cannot be guaranteed a cadaver hoof for the hands-on trimming session during the clinic. FEE SCHEDULE - Payment is expected at the time of registration. The clinic participant must pay a minimum of a 50% deposit to register for the clinic. The remaining 50% shall be payable ON or BEFORE the actual clinic date. The participant may also pay in full at the time of registration. PAYMENT - Payments accepted are cash, check, visa & mastercard. If you will be writing a check, please make your check payable to UNITED HORSEMANSHIP. If you will be paying by credit card, please contact your host for instructions.. CANCELLATION POLICY - Due to the limited class size and materials cost, if you cancel UP TO 30 days prior to the starting date of the class, one-half of your deposit will be forfeited. If you cancel WITHIN 30 days prior to the starting date of the class, your entire deposit will be forfeited. In the event that United Horsemanship cancels the class, all clinic fees will be refunded in full. TOOLS -Participants must bring their own tools if they are attending the hands-on trimming session. Tools used in class include hoof knives (we recommend the F.Dick Ascot Model), knife sharpeners, rasps (we recommend the Save-Edge 14" Rasp), nippers (optional) and rubberized gloves (we recommend Atlas gloves). Tools may or may not be available for purchase at the clinic location. Please bring several OLD terry cloth towels for use while trimming and for clean up. ACCOMMODATIONS - All accommodations will be the responsibility of the participant. The clinic host may provide a list of hotels, campsites, and/or host families for your convenience. Please contact the host listed above to request this information. MEALS - Lunches will either be BYOBB (Bring Your Own Brown-Bag) or a group Pot Luck BBQ. If there is enough interest from participants, host will provide hamburgers, hot dogs and a salad for lunch on both days and participants can share the cost of meals. Participants must let host know of their meal plans in order to make adequate preparations. |

Maps & Directions - Take 395 North. At the Red Rock Road exit, turn right (Shell station and Taco Bell Express) Take Red Rock Road approximately 17 miles to Dry Valley Road. Turn right onto Dry Valley Road. Follow Dry Valley for approximately one mile to Cinch. Turn right on Cinch to 305 Cinch Road. House is a log home with wood barn. |
